We love tips and tricks because they come free and no one minds them. But before trusting them blindly, one should analyze the truth-value of the information. Lately, the beauty sphere is invaded by hopeless myths and these misconceptions are causing more damage than good. 7 out of 10 people fall prey to these myths. With this blog, we are trying to debunk some of them that we came across.
Myth #1: You always need a toner
Yes! You need a toner but not always. A standard toner helps you remove excess dirt off the skin. And also some of the brands assure you brighter and blemish-free skin. Toner is indeed good to add to your skincare routine but not everyone needs it, especially if you already have too many beauty products in your kit. It is good to go for a minimalistic journey without a toner.
There are many natural ways which can heal your skin rather than applying heady-duty toners or cleansers. To know about them, read our blog 7 Amazing ways to Take Care of Your skin
Myth #2: You should use makeup wipes
Makeup wipes are not meant for all skin types especially people with hyperpigmentation. If you use it daily, it can tear off the top skin layer through its friction. The best alternative to makeup wipes would be mild cleansers. Go for an oil cleanser to wipe out the day’s makeup.
Myth #3: Price tag tells the quality of the product
No! A big no. A product that works well for one skin may not mesh well with all the skin types. Sometimes even a simple product with a less price tag brings about a lot of change in the face and texture. Therefore, before buying any product, scan its ingredients. See if any of the ingredients may not go well with your skin. Before shelling out money, you can also do some research.
Myth #4: Pimples from touching the face often
You may come across this popular statement quite often. Yeah touching face may transfer germs to your face but it’s not your hands but primarily your fingernails. Apparently, your nails store gunk and from that germs can travel to your face causing infection and result in blemishes or pimples. Therefore, while washing your hands, focus on your fingernails and clean them often.
Myth #5: You need to use a ‘dime-sized’ amount of product
Applying a fingertip amount may not be everybody’s thing! People will have different face sizes and skin texture and health. If a product isn’t working for you, then try applying more than you usually do and see if it makes any difference.
Myth #6: Pimple patch is not the solution for acne
Still, the major population has difficulty moving from traditional skincare to the latest one when it comes to acne. Acne patch is what you need more than any cosmetic products that are there. Acne patches are organic and offer a long-term solution to regular pimples and breakouts with 100% results.
Myth #7: You don’t need a dermatologist
Yes! You don’t need it if you already know about your skin. But if you are still in the process of discovering your skin type and products, then consulting a dermatologist is fairly a good idea. They educate you and offer you tips and tricks that are backed by science. Therefore, before going to a dermatologist, be prepared with your skin-related questions.
